The percussive therapy market has exploded in recent years. Therabody wanted to establish themselves as the global leader; and who better to lead the launch of premium massage gun than Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the world’s most recognisable athletes.  

Fans though had grown tired of hearing his story so many times and would only react positively to something authentic, compelling and new.

 

CAMPAIGN 

Our global TVC campaign showed how personal recovery had been integral to Cristiano Ronaldo’s journey. 

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner truly embodied the brand message of ‘Take Control.’ He’s taken control of every aspect of his career to become one of the most ruthless record-breakers in global sport.  

Cristiano Ronaldo’s reputation alone is capable of transcending sport, cultural, and language barriers. As an ambassador, the ‘GOAT’ could help unlock a global audience and cement Therabody as the premium product. 

Music was key in landing the message with global audiences. A unique re-recorded version of Kodaline’s Take Control added cinematic quality and helped make the message human and memorable. 

Results

Following Take Control, Therabody saw a 20% uplift in retail sales. 

Therabody communicated a fully integrated through-the-line global campaign to open doors with world-class retailers in China, Australia and Europe. 

By adapting the campaign with a huge bank of imagery and context-specific content for retail, in-store, eCommerce, digital, and social channels, Therabody truly went global.
