CREATING THE ULTIMATE FOOTBALL FAN EXPERIENCE FOR UEFA
UEFA needed a platform to build excitement amongst fans, sponsors and broadcasters in the run up to the Champions League and Europa League finals, driving traffic, engagement and conversations around the competitions. With full pitch access the day after the finals, UEFA had an incredible asset at their disposal. Having identified that fans were beginning to view the tournaments as out of reach for the everyday fan, we created a bespoke engagement platform for UEFA and its partners to utilise each season, harnessing this incredible UCL and UEL asset to bring fans closer to the action and provide them with a money-can’t-buy experience the day after the Champions League and Europa League final. In its first year, the UEFA Fans’ Final was a huge success with sponsors, broadcasters and fans alike that UEFA decided to make the activation an annual event across both tournaments. Since 2015, we have successfully delivered eight fans’ finals across Berlin, Warsaw, Milan, Basel, Cardiff, Stockholm, Kiev and Lyon.
The campaign provided a multi-channel activation platform for brands and media partners, creating valuable opportunities to produce branded content to connect with fans throughout the entire season. In 2018, the success of the platform was recognised and bought by a brand partner, who will now activate it each season.
