Therabody welcomes Cristiano Ronaldo to the family

Cristiano Ronaldo needs no introduction. One of the greatest ever athletes, with his own philosophy of recovery, he was the perfect name to take the Therabody brand to the next level.

Therabody have been working hard to build their brand in 60+ countries. The wellness tech leaders created the first handheld percussive therapy device trusted by athletes to accelerate recovery and prevent injuries.

Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest athletes in sporting history. Known worldwide for his unrelenting desire to achieve on-pitch perfection, with endless goalscoring accolades and winning almost every trophy it's possible to win. 

When two heavyweights collide, the content has to be unique. This isn’t Cristiano Ronaldo’s first partnership, and it won’t be the last. Theragun wanted to make sure this lasted long in the memory, and they certainly delivered.

The Fan Intelligence® Network told us to stay away from the obvious performance route and avoid a straight-up piece to camera. Instead, they wanted to see a unique approach to recovery in a way that everyone can relate to and recreate. 

Sitting down with Ronaldo in a more relaxed setting, he explained, “My body is my weapon. To be the best, you need the best recovery. That's why I choose Therabody." 

Using his own words, unscripted, is how Therabody kept the campaign authentic and relatable. The campaign was soundtracked by Kodaline’s “Take Control,” with lyrics perfectly encapsulating the care and attention to detail of Ronaldo’s recovery regime. 

Therabody has been working with Ronaldo since his time at Real Madrid in 2017 when Therabody founder and Chief Wellness Officer Jason Wersland began advising him on optimising his recovery routine with the Theragun. 

Ronaldo has used the Theragun to explore new and effective ways to take care of his body to ensure he stays at the top of his game. Ronaldo will now continue to work with Therabody to educate his community on the benefits of Theragun. 

The partnership is the most extensive global advertising campaign to date for Therabody, launching in the US, UK, Europe, China, Japan, Canada and Australia.
